The European AENEAM project (Agrifood Efficiency with New Energy Audit Measures) has supported 80 agri-food businesses across four European countries in their energy transition, through energy audits tailored to their needs and long-term support. It identified energy savings of over 66 GWh per year – equivalent to 14.6 per cent of the energy consumption of the audited companies – with payback periods of less than three years. This conference will present the project’s key findings, the most effective optimisation measures and the lessons learnt from the experience in France.
