The main feature of the exhibition, Cap’, allows a company to receive comprehensive support in developing an innovative product.

This initiative is led by GL events, Agropole, the only European technopole specialized in the food industry, and RIA (a specialized industry magazine).

The Context of Cap' 2024

With 2024 being the year of CFIA Toulouse and with sports being celebrated nationwide due to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the developed product will be dedicated to athletes' nutrition. It must also be plant-based, virtuous, or natural.

Hundreds of athletes will need to nourish themselves, having specific daily needs before, during, and after their efforts.

Depending on the disciplines, these nutritional, pleasure, and cultural needs will vary.

The Sports Nutrition Market is Emerging from Its Niche

Sports nutrition is showing structural growth despite inflation. Consumer expectations are evolving, and new players are emerging, developing more gourmet offerings.

Focus on Hemp

As part of the Cap’ project call, the Agrotec technology center is developing a hemp protein-based energy drink for the start-up V21.

Benefits of Hemp Protein

Ecological Benefits

Soil Improvement: Hemp has a root system that helps structure the soil and utilizes all the soil's fertilizing elements.
Carbon Absorption: 1 hectare of hemp absorbs as much CO2 as 1 hectare of forest, equivalent to 15 tons.
Sustainable Cultivation: Hemp is grown without pesticides, without GMOs, and has a high biomass yield.

Agronomic Benefit

Crop Rotation: Excellent rotation crop, providing a yield increase of 15 q/ha for the subsequent crop (e.g., cereals).
Pest and Weed Control: Breaks disease and weed cycles.
Water Efficiency: No need for irrigation.

Eco-Responsible Aspects

Eco-Responsible Aspects
Local Production: Fully autonomous and 100% French industry (from varietal selection to processing).
Mechanical Processing: Entirely mechanical process with no chemicals.
Proximity: Producers are close to the processing industries.

V 21 with their project of INSTANT HEMP PROTEIN DRINK

The project focuses on developing an instant beverage based on hemp protein, sourced from their own hemp seed production in Gers.

The product must be plant-based, virtuous, and/or natural... The instant hemp protein beverage meets all three criteria.

V21, what is it?

V21 is a Toulouse-based startup that specializes in organic hemp-based foods. They offer hemp seeds, oils, and plant-based proteins rich in nutrients. Hemp is cultivated and processed in Gers, a region in France known for its agricultural production.
