Description

MAEVE is WIIO’s robotic software platform designed to manage, orchestrate, and optimize automated intralogistics flows. Positioned as a WES (Warehouse Execution System), it acts as a central orchestrator between a company’s information systems, automated equipment, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and operators. Its purpose is to centralize operational management to ensure smoother, more efficient, and fully coordinated flows, from storage and order preparation through to shipping. Connected to existing systems such as WMS, ERP, or MES, MAEVE ensures continuity between orders generated by the information system and their execution in the field. The platform receives and interprets operational requirements, triggers the necessary actions, and coordinates the various pieces of equipment involved in logistics processes. This architecture allows companies to retain their existing business systems while adding an orchestration layer capable of dynamically managing automation. At the heart of the platform, MAEVE Manager handles the management of autonomous mobile robots. The module assigns missions in real time based on criteria such as priority, workload, and robot location. It also manages traffic to optimize robot movements and prevent congestion or blocking situations. The status of each robot can be monitored through information such as battery level, availability, and potential alerts. MAEVE therefore continuously adapts fleet activity to operational requirements. One of MAEVE’s key strengths is its agnostic, multi-vendor approach. The platform can integrate and manage equipment from different manufacturers, enabling WIIO to design a robotic architecture based on the actual requirements of each project rather than building it around a single technology. This interoperability also makes installations easier to scale: new technologies or robots can be added to an existing system as requirements and volumes evolve. MAEVE also provides a centralized view of operations. Its interface enables real-time monitoring of robots, flows, and operational areas. Indicators such as throughput, equipment availability, and OEE provide visibility into system performance. Dynamic task planning and scheduling help adapt operations to real-time events, while alerts make it possible to quickly identify anomalies and anticipate potential incidents. The platform can also integrate various peripherals to trigger or support processes. Mobile computers, tablets, industrial IoT sensors, Pick-to-Light, or Put-to-Light systems can be incorporated into the ecosystem to provide information, trigger a mission, guide an operator, or validate an operation. MAEVE therefore goes beyond robot management: it coordinates the different technological components involved in an automated intralogistics process. This orchestration capability supports a wide range of use cases. In a Pallet-to-Person process, MAEVE coordinates the movement, storage, and delivery of pallets using AMRs. The platform manages pallet prioritization and supplies picking stations to minimize operator waiting times. It can orchestrate pallet intake at receiving, just-in-time order preparation, and transfer to shipping docks, while integrating guidance and picking assistance technologies. In a Moving process, MAEVE automates internal transfers of goods and loads. The platform can orchestrate the supply of raw materials or packaging to production lines, transfers between storage and preparation areas, the removal of handling units or waste, as well as cross-docking flows between receiving and shipping docks. Missions are triggered, monitored, and synchronized with information systems to ensure operational continuity. This approach has notably been implemented as part of Auchan Retail’s AMIRAL project. For this just-in-time food preparation project, ProLogistik’s Logistar WMS retains business process management, while MAEVE dynamically orchestrates the various technological components of the system: a fleet of 49 HIKROBOT AMRs, Put-to-Light equipment, and stackers. This project demonstrates MAEVE’s ability to coordinate multiple technologies within a single process while integrating with an existing IT architecture. In addition, WIIO uses MAEVE Vision to secure the design of automation projects before deployment. This simulation environment makes it possible to model the flows and processes of a logistics platform, test different configurations, and analyze their behavior. In multi-technology projects, it can virtually interconnect solutions from different manufacturers to orchestrate and consolidate flows. WMS emulation can also reproduce the orders that will be sent to the equipment and assess the overall behavior of the installation before it goes live. This approach helps size solutions, identify potential bottlenecks, measure expected performance, and secure investments.
