Alternative chemistry

Description

“Alternative chemistry” consists in replacing part of the conventional chemical treatments—which present human, environmental, and economic risks—with treatments based on biodegradable and/or bio-based active ingredients. A pioneer in this innovative approach, BWT is gradually developing a range of more responsible products with reduced environmental impact. Our objective: to support industry in its ecological transition, increasingly required by customers, partners, and public authorities, and more broadly driven by companies’ own corporate social responsibility. This ambitious strategy now leads us to develop a complete range of products formulated from renewable or recycled active ingredients: bio-based, non‑toxic, biodegradable, with a reduced carbon footprint, offering performance at least equivalent to conventional chemical products—and at competitive prices. Among our first innovations* dedicated to the treatment of industrial and collective cooling systems, discover for example: » BWT ECO-80 010 or ECO-80 011 Scale, deposit, and corrosion inhibitor. Phosphorus‑free and with reduced nitrogen content! Available with or without dispersing, biodispersing, and built‑in tracer effects. » BWT ECO-81 040 Biodispersant and biofilm growth inhibitor. Phosphorus‑free! » BWT ECO-84 030 Copper and alloy corrosion inhibitor. Phosphorus‑free and azole‑free! NEW IN 2026 SINCE LATE 2025, NEW PRODUCTS HAVE ENRICHED THE RANGE. Now featuring bio-based products! The formulations are based on bio-based active ingredients derived from plant waste. Examples include the BWT ECO-80 020 scale and corrosion inhibitor; also available with integrated tracer and biodispersant functions as BWT ECO-80 021. A corrosion‑inhibition treatment for copper and alloys in closed loops! Phosphorus-free, azole-free, and formulated with biodegradable active ingredients, BWT ECO-94 030 is an entirely new eco‑responsible treatment for inhibiting corrosion in copper and alloys.
